Glade Expressions Collection

Recently we got the chance to try out the new Glade Expressions collection.  Now I'm picky about anything scented because a lot of it is so strong and gives me migraines.  Needless to say I was skeptical that I would like the new glade products due to that.

I picked the pineapple and mangosteen fragrance because I've always liked anything pineapple.  Surprising enough the oil diffuser isn't very strong at all.  It gives off just enough of a scent that you notice it but it isn't at all overpowering.  It also didn't cause any migraines.  :)  So it's win in my book.  I don't care one way or the other for the spray as I rarely use that kind of thing anyway.

Covergirl & Olay Review

Recently I got asked by bzzagent if I'd like to try out the new Covergirl & Olay makeup.  I'm always up for trying out new beauty products.  :)  While I'm not quite old enough to need age-defying makeup I was excited to try it because it has Olay in it to make it more moisturizing.  I almost always have dry skin in the colder months.

The Covergirl & Olay tone rehab foundation is not as moisturizing as I had hoped.  I normally apply liquid makeup with a brush but this pretty much turns to a thick powder when you pump it out of the bottle.  So by the time I apply it to my skin it has a powder finish.  It tends to make my skin feel dry and tight.  

The Covergirl & Olay pressed powder is less drying than regular powder.  That's an improvement in my book over other powders.  But the compact itself isn't very sturdy and doesn't lock shut.  I had left it on the bathroom counter and when the cat knocked it over it shattered into a bunch of pieces.  I've had other compacts survive the cat.

So all in all the Covergirl & Olay products probably aren't the best for me.  I have extremely sensitive skin that at times is dry and this makeup wasn't moisturizing enough.  It also didn't stay matte looking for more than an hour even on a cool day.  :(

Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Olive Oil

I recently got to try some Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Olive Oil via bzzagent.  It truly has a much better taste than other olive oils.  I used mine on some oven roasted red potatoes with garlic.  I followed a recipe from America's Test Kitchen and parboiled the potatoes first with some salt and baking soda.  I'd never tried this before, but it gave them an amazing crust when baked in the oven.  I'll definitely be trying it again.  And the Filippo Berio Olive Oil was the perfect thing to drizzle and toss them with.

Science Diet Grain Free Ideal Balance for Cats

 

Bzzagent recently asked me if Seven would like to try some Science Diet Grain Free Ideal Balance for cats.  Of course he said yes, well he meowed a bit.  I figured it would be something he'd like because Miss Rosie already gets the Grain Free Ideal Balance for dogs and he always tries to get the bags open to help himself.

Well it came the other day and he immediately tried to open the bag himself.  So I opened it up for him and gave him a few preview pieces.  Seven ate them right away.  So it's a big hit with him.  I'm glad he likes it because its good for him too.  It's got great ingredients like fresh chicken, fruits and veggies and also free of corn, artificial colors and preservatives.  And since he's an older cat, the grain free formula is great for him because its easier to digest.
